Daisy wasn’t lying when she told me in the interview that she wanted to create inexpensive clothes for women in the middle class and make them feel and look good.
The clothes from her Spring/Summer 2012 collection are classic, chic, wearable and yes, they look expensive. Actually, when I first saw the clothes backstage, I knew from then that the design would embody Daisy herself, simple but elegant.
Her Spring/Summer 2012 collection showcased the beauty and energy of the South of France. She marked her Spring looks with floral prints and rich color combinations that were somehow reminiscent to Picasso. She brought together a mixture of soft textures and bold solids on fabrics such as silk, satin and jersey. There was a balance between fluidity and crispness with the shirts, tailored jacket and pants.
Meanwhile, the luxe bohemian beach style of St. Tropez embodied the feeling of summer using fabrics such as linen and chiffon. The key colors were blue and white as they were the colors of the beach. The colors was accented with touches of nudes and the pinks came to life with details such as crochet trims, fringe and lace.
Personally, I would say that the show is one of my favorites. Daisy Fuentes might be a retail brand but the clothes did not fail to achieve the luxurious quality that most high-end brands offer.
