Runway Review: Mary Katrantzou Spring 2011

Venetian, Parisian, Old English or Modern what ever the style of the room is, the rule is that WE SHOULD BE INSIDE IT.  But Mary Katrantzou’s broke that rule in her first ever stand alone show.

“With this collection, I wanted to put the room on the woman, rather than the woman in the room,” Katrantzou said after the show.

Originality and craftsmanship were highlighted in this collection. Every piece was considered a masterpiece. The concept was so absurd yet was something so dazzling and the clothes and the accesories were just too surreal to be left unworn.
