Filipina beauty queen Venus Raj came a long way from that protesting dethroned Bb. Pilipinas to crowd’s favorite and finally 4th runner up to the 2010 Ms. Universe pageant.
Raj, 22, became a trending topic in Twitter even before the start of the pageant, and so a lot of hopeful Filipinos were expecting that she would really win the crown. So when she didn’t a lot of people were dissapointed and most of them had placed their blame in Raj’s “major, major” answer.
During the Miss Universe question and answer portion, Raj was asked by American actor William Baldwin about the biggest mistake that she made in her life and what she did to make it right.
And she replied “You know what, sir, in my 22 years of existence, I can say that there’s nothing major major problem that I’ve done in my life because I’m very confident with my family, with the love that they are giving to me. So thank you so much that I’m here. Thank you, thank you so much!”
We’ll in my opinion, the 4th place position is definitely something to be proud of, it takes a lot of effort (and x factor) to get in the contest let alone be part of the Top 5 finalists. And besides, et’s face it, this is the first Filipino victory in the Ms. Universe pageant for almost 11 years!
So Venus Raj, you may have not won the crown, but you sure made us Filipinos proud! Congratulations!
P.S. Congratulations also to Ms. Jimena Navarrete (Ms. Mexico) for winning the Ms. Universe 2010 pageant and to all the winners as well.
